A decent product and does the job it is intended to do, and works better than the description describes as it switches on when the PH is 0.05 over from what is set. For example; mine is set to 6.8, and it switches on at 6.85, and switches of at 6.7, effectively keeping the CO2 levels stable. The reason I have knocked off a star is because the dials are very very sensitive. I am talking adjusting the read more... The reason I have knocked off a star is because the dials are very very sensitive. I am talking adjusting the dials by half a millimetre and it climbing 2-3 whole (not decimal) numbers sensitive. Making it very fiddly to get it set-up properly. Once set-up though, it does a fantastic job. I really can't fault it

I bought this so I could be really accurate with my pH but it's also got the added benefit of providing a fail-safe against accidental CO2 overdosing and also if you increase the CO2 dosing rate a bit then it means during the day there are period where the target pH is reached and there are no CO2 bubbles floating around in the tank, so the water looks really nice and clear. This is my first Ph controller so was a bit conerned it'd be a bit complicated but its actually dead easy to use and has been working perfectly since installing it a month or so ago This is my first Ph controller so was a bit conerned it'd be a bit complicated but its actually dead easy to use and has been working perfectly since installing it a month or so ago

Good controller very accurate. Heres a tip, it's a good idea to plug the controller into a timer plug / smart plug so you make sure no CO2 is dosed when the lights are off Good controller very accurate. Rubbish, not fit for purpose. Extremely dificult to set target pH and pH fluctuates too much between on and off, creating a HUUUUGGGEE CO2 fluctuation of 0.2 between on and off.
Fluctuating CO2 is one of the biggest causes of various algaes and problems in CO2 supplemented planted tanks.
Apparently this is all normal according to CO2 supermarket :/
I would avoid this product if you want accurate read more...

We're sorry to read your review, Karen, but what you have said is incorrect and we wish to clarify for others who read this. The idea with the controller (and all pH controllers) is you set a target pH, for example 6.8, and the controller will activate the plug (for the CO2 solenoid) when the pH rises slightly above target, e.g. 6.9 and will remain switched on until the pH drops slightly below target, e.g. 6.7. In effect the controller maintains a range of 6.7 - 6.9, but most of the time the pH will be close to the target of 6.8.
This is done to reduce cycling, so that the controller / CO2 is on for a solid duration and isn't constantly switching on and off in an attempt to maintain exactly 6.8, otherwise one minute it will be on, the next it will be off, and so on, which is not desirable. Maintaining a range like this is a deliberate and desirable design feature, not a negative aspect of the controller and you may not have understood the reason it does this. In addition, maintaining this 0.2 pH range is a miniscule amount and saying this is a "HUUUUGGGEE" pH range that will cause algae problems is simply incorrect and misleading.
